Head Life Guard
Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director/Coordinator and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Lead Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and for assisting the Aquatics Director in recruiting, training, and supervising lifeguard staff and in managing Aquatics programming and facilities.

The Downtown Y is looking for experienced swim instructors. At least 1 year of swim instruction experience required. Previous experience with YMCA swim lessons preferred. Must have current WSI or YMCA Swim Instructor certification. Lifeguard & CPR certifications a plus. Apply at the membership desk.
SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE ASSISTANT- ROCKFISH RIVER AFTERSCHOOL (NELSON COUNTY)
•Provide direct supervision of a group of children. Provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
•Provide safe supervision of a group of children
•Implement program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA core values
•Adhere to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards
•Attend staff meetings and trainings
•Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies
•Maintain positive relations with parents and other staff
•Completion of YMCA specific training/certifications as directed
•Minimum age 18
•Previous experience working with children
•Meet educational and experience qualifications established by Virginia State Licensing
•Provide documentation of current negative TB test
•First Aid, CPR, AED and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire
•Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
