Six divisions. Two-person same gender teams. One day. Three scored events plus a fourth and final event.
The Hill City Throwdown is an annual, professional-grade fitness competition that takes pride in both its quality and integrity. We believe being fit means being able to do well across a variety of different physical tests. As such, we've designed a competition that will test all skill areas. The Hill City Throwdown welcomes returning competitors as well provides newer athletes an opportunity to challenge themselves -- and have a blast doing it!
Our two-person, same gender team structure allows you to step out onto the competition floor with your best lifting buddy to experience the best of both worlds: all the fun of competition, without that nerve-wracking feeling of going it alone! The differentiator will be how well the competing teams work together as a single unit.
This one-day event will kick off on Saturday, September 7th, 2019. Teams will be tested in a vast array of fitness challenges that will push all athletes to their physical and mental limits across a variety of domains, including strongman, olympic lifting, endurance, and gymnastics. While the HCTD will incorporate a variety of movements, it can be scaled for any level athlete. Two weeks prior to the competition, we will announce the first three events that all competitors will participate in. We typically hold a finals workout for the top five teams, though this varies from year to year.
Pick your division…
Novice: For those who are new to competing, share a common goal of functional fitness, and are working toward improving their skills.
Masters (35+): For Masters competitors who would rather compete against other athletes in the same age group. *If a Masters competitor wishes to compete with the RX group, simply register into the RX division instead.
RX: The perfect fit for athletes who love the thrill of competition, have a passion for functional fitness and who can RX most daily workouts.
*Division structure has potential to change due to number of participants registered.
