Summer Learning Loss Prevention Program

By now hopefully you have heard about the Summer Learning Loss Prevention Program we held this past summer. This was a 6 week program held at your Y where certified teachers worked with students who were performing below grade level.  Vocabulary, spelling, grammar, writing and math were the focus.  A healthy breakfast and lunch as well as field trips, swimming lessons and physical activity were part of the program. Thanks to those who donated, all of this was provided free of charge to each child.


Nakesha Moore had two children take part in this program and her story can be seen in the video above.   We invite you to take just a few minutes and watch her story to see how your donations have benefited others in your community.

Halloween at the Y

Halloween at the Y is a great opportunity for the community to eat healthy snacks while in a safe fun environment.   This event is open to the public at only $3 per child and $15 max per family! It will be at the Jamerson Family Y on October 25th from 3-5pm! You don't want to miss it!

Face the Forest 2014
