The custodian is responsible for maintaining excellent cleaning and safety throughout the facility and grounds. He/she ensures all areas are safe and cleaned properly. Performs functions related to cleaning and maintenance. The work schedule is weekends and one week day per week. Works up to 16 hours per week; must be flexible and able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and all program areas of the facility
• Sweep, mop, buff, and vacuum floors
• Empty trash
• Clean and sanitize fitness equipment
• Clean and sanitize offices, lockers, tables, chairs, windows, drinking fountains, and appliances and anything else that needs to be cleaned in and around the Family Center
• Pick up trash inside and outside facility
• All other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED
• 1 year of general custodian/maintenance experience preferred; experience in commercial custodial work preferred
• Must demonstrate the ability and skills of proper and professional cleaning
• Must be familiar with or willing to learn the duties and responsibilities of a custodian and to make minor repairs
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
• Must pass Criminal Background Check and attend and pass required trainings such as CPR/first aid/oxygen administration, child abuse training, bloodborne pathogens, hazard communication, slips, trips and falls
• Must have reliable transportation
