MEMBERSHIP

Ages 14 and up

May join as an individual. Teens 14-17 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the membership agreement and waiver. Members under this classification cannot bring guests. You must be at least 18 years old to host a guest.

 
OPEN

FACILITY USE

Ages 18 and up

May be considered the supervising guardian for siblings age 13 and younger when using the facilities, provided responsible and appropriate behavior is exercised at all times.

 
TREADMILL

WELLNESS CENTER

Ages 14 and up

  • May use the wellness center (fitness equipment, cardio and free- weights) and participate in group exercise classes without adult supervision. *Express YMCA Wellness Center is 18+

Ages 11 - 13

  • May use the wellness center (Y-Fit orientation approved equipment) and actively participate in non-weight bearing (i.e. dumbbells, free-weights, bands, etc.) group exercise classes with direct parental supervision after successful completion of a Y-Fit orientation. *See reverse side for additional information
 
LOCKER ROOM

LOCKER ROOMS

Ages 18 and up

Must use the adult locker rooms.

Ages 18 and under

  • Must use the family locker rooms, universal restrooms or, boys and girls (youth) locker rooms.
  • Members and guests ages 5 years and older should use their same gender youth locker room or bathroom facility. Family locker rooms/universal restrooms are available for parents/supervising guardians with opposite gender children. These family locker rooms are also available to those who require special assistance.
 
BASKETBALL

GYMNASIUM

Ages 11 and up

  • May use the gymnasium during open gym times. Scheduled activities have priority; please refer to schedule.
  • Ages 10 and under
  • May use the gymnasium with a parent/supervising guardian.

Ages 13 and under

  • May use Racquetball Courts (Downtown YMCA) with a parent/supervising guardian.
 
CHILD CARE

CHILD WATCH - DOWNTOWN YMCA, YMCA EXPRESS, JAMERSON FAMILY YMCA

Ages 6 weeks to 10 years

Only household members with active child memberships may utilize Child Watch services. A child may remain in Child Watch for up to 90 minutes per day. Parent/legal guardian must remain in the facility when child is in the Y’s care. When Kidz Gym is open, children 5 and up must utilize that service. Please check schedule for availability.

KIDZ GYM - JAMERSON FAMILY YMCA 

Ages 5 - 13

Only household members with active child memberships may utilize Kidz Gym services. A child may remain in Kidz Gym for up to 90 minutes per day. Parent/legal guardian must remain in the facility when child is in the Y’s care. (Jamerson location only)

 
POOL GUIDELINES

AQUATICS CENTER

POOLS

  • Ages 14 and up
  • May use the pool without a parent or guardian present in the building.

Ages 11 - 13

  • May use the pool if they pass a swim test and a parent or guardian is present on YMCA premises.

Ages 7 - 10

  • Must have a parent or guardian present in the pool area.
  • Ages 6 and under
  • Must have a parent or guardian present in the water.

WHIRLPOOL

Ages 16 and up

  • Age requirements for the hot tub may be adjusted based on the discretion of the Family Center Executive Director for the safety of our members, guests, volunteers, and staff.

SWIM TEST

Ages 7 – 13

  • All children 7-13 will be asked to take the swim test each time they come to the pool for open swim. If a child does not pass or does not want to take the test, they must remain in the Red Band Zone
  1. Jump feet first into deep water
  2. Swim front crawl half the length of pool
  3. Turn around and swim front crawl back to the start.

NOTE: Because each facility is unique, please talk with the lifeguards to find out policies for red and green band zones.
